San Antonio Surf is pleased to announce that Coach Kevin Driggs will be coming on staff this upcoming fall!
Coming from Albuquerque, New Mexico Driggs played collegiately at the University of New Mexico. After his playing days he had a passion to stay in the game by coaching. He started coaching with New Mexico Rush Soccer, one of the leading soccer clubs in the nation, and became the Director of Coaching for the girls academy. Coach Driggs was with Rush for 14 years before taking an Assistant Women's coaching position at West Texas A&M University in 2014. While at West Texas A&M he helped lead them to one of the top programs in the Lone Star Conference and South Central Region. After six years at WT, Driggs was most recently named the Head Coach at St Mary's University here in San Antonio.
"I was able to connect with Kevin in January when he moved to San Antonio to take over the St. Mary's Women's Program and we just hit it off. It is not often you get to bring in a coach of Kevin's caliber and I jumped at the possibility. Kevin not only has extensive college coaching experience, which will be an awesome resource for us, but has club coaching and director experience with his time with New Mexico Rush in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We are honored that Kevin choose to coach with us as he believed in the mission and vision we presented, he will be leading our 08 Girls team this coming season. When you see Kevin on the fields please make sure to welcome him to San Antonio"
Executive Director, Rick Kuchka is “very happy to have Kevin on the staff. His experience as a player, youth coach and director, and college coach is a huge benefit to our club. I have no doubt he will make a positive impact with our players right out of the gate.”
Driggs holds a Master's degree in counseling from New Mexico Highlands. He also holds a USSF "B" License and a US Soccer NY License. He is married to Jacqueline and has two daughters, Jami (12 years) and Sydney (9 months).
